Linkin Park to play show at Auckland!!

Linkin Park have announced one Auckland show, in the first of what could be a wave of bands tagging New Zealand shows onto appearances at Australia's Soundwave Festival.

The multi-award winning band will play at Vector Arena on February 21 next year as part of their Living Things world tour.

It will be the American band's first trip to New Zealand since they played to a sold-out Vector Arena in 2007.

Since their 2000 debut Hybrid Theory, Linkin Park and their blend of rap and rock has seen them produce some of the most commercially successful radio hits this side of the millennium.

With a back catalogue including Somewhere I Belong', Numb and the collaborative mash up hits from their team-up with Jay-Z on Collision Course, it will be a jam-packed set list.

Now onto their fifth studio album, Living Things debuted at the top of the Kiwi charts and remained in the top five for four consecutive weeks.

Led by singer Chester Bennington and rapper Mike Shinoda, Linkin Park has won more than 40 international awards, receiving close to 130 nominations around the world.

Linkin Park smash Bieber from top spot!!!

Bieber with his much popular “Believe” disc seems to have crushed the competition last week, but this week the pop heartbreaker was pushed out of the top spot by a bunch of California rap rockers.

“Living Things,” the fifth studio released by Linkin Park, approx around 20,000 copies have been sold, according to Nielsen Soundscan data. This is the band’s third-straight No. 1 album in Canada.

It seems that Bieber couldn't able to secure his place for the long period despite a much-hyped appearance at the MuchMusic Video Awards last month and oodles of press.
